SEO shouldn’t the only source of traffic

In my previous article, I wrote about SEO or PPC, which is basically the most common Search Engine Marketing source for your site.
Now, this article title said that SEO shouldn’t the only source of traffic. Why is that? Search Engine Optimization relies on us guessing the algorithm of Google, Yahoo, MSN and other Search Engine. But you know what? The SE is always changing their algorithm, making it difficult of us webmaster and internet marketer to tame them.
In the past you could stuff a page with your targeted keywords and rank, and they fight back and those who over-optimized their web page got sink from the first page of the SE result page to no page 50 or something. And then the next wave coming from link building, a lot of webmaster getting thousands of links for their targeted keywords and rank well, again the Search Engine such as Google fight back, tweaking their algorithm so links are not the only thing they calculate to determine which web page deserve on top of their result. Google today is contextually accurate. They understand which one web page deserve rank well and which one doesn’t.
So, the question is do you want your website traffic comes only dependent to the organic result Search Engine only? Which is if you hasn’t read between the lines, is always changing according to the algorithm? Well I’m not counting on that. I will diversify my source of traffic, whether using Pay-per-Click or Email marketing and other legal source of traffic.

Yes, i agree with you. I used rss feed, tag & ping to get more traffic. Rss have the biggest power to get more linked to my blog. Imagine, only since 27 sept ago, my blog name was indexed up to 160.000 site. And day by day, still get more.

I haven’t used RSS feed much and based on your experience, I believe that t should be taken into one of the traffic source too. I don’t used tag because I don’t want to be accused of spamming the Social Bookmarking sites, but I do ping though…will learn to use more RSS feed from now on.

absolutly..SEO is not the only way to gaining good traffic, but it’s one of the best way ..majorly on Google SERP..of course we can drive targeted traffic from Blogsphere, social network and forums, but Google SERP is still the top..

I agree that with you mas Nubar, Google SERP is still the top producing traffic for me too..but as I mention in the article above, I will diversify my source of traffic so if Google changing their algorithm I won’t lose too many traffic, that’s all.

Yups, 100 % I agree. I think building link popularity with SEO while increasing our traffiict/visitor from RSS, forum/sharing about related topics and so on is best alternative. If I may share an oppinion, just do the best for both alternatives. I am sure they will give us more advantage, particularly for our business.
