Email marketing as source of traffic

If you’ve read my previous post about not to depends your website traffic only from SEO, I also mention several alternate source of traffic to your website. One of them is email marketing.
But before you jump down and start emailing other people about your website, you should know that often many email marketing if not done right will be flagged as spam and tarnish your reputation as an internet marketer.
So, what should you do? Well, permission-based email or opt-in email marketing should be your way to go. The absolute difference between permission-based email/opt-in email marketing with spam email is the way we send email to our visitor or prospect.
Let us begin with the evil side, spam email is simply blasting email to any email address that we have, whether or not they asked information from our site or if they’re know us of not and spam email tends to sent out continuously.
While the counterparts, opt-in email/permission-based email only sent out to those people who opt-in to our website, and anytime the people who subscribe to our email list can choose to opt-out/removed from the email list.
On a side note, my internet marketing guru Anne Ahira, was once accused of being a spammer by many Indonesian, but knowing her ability and reputation, I find it hard to believe that she is a spammer. I know this because I opt-in to her email list, and she never sent any email that scream: buy this! and the next day buy that!…No, no, no…she never did that. If I choose to, I can unsubscribe anytime from her email list.
